Choose the task you want to complete. You can view and reserve from a public list without creating an account. To make your own lists or save products, use your Wiset account in the app or extension.
Reserve from the shared link
- Open the link you received. If the list is public, the gifts appear in your browser without installing Wiset or signing in.
- Choose an available gift and press “Reserve gift”. Wait for confirmation and the “Your gift to give” status.
- Buy it separately from the shop you prefer. Reserving in Wiset does not place an order or make a payment. Opening a shop link does not mark the gift as purchased.
Change of plan?
Return to the list in the same browser and press “Release my reservation”. Keep that browser’s cookies until you no longer need to manage the reservation. Another device or private-browsing window cannot recognise it. Clearing cookies removes that access; reservations are not automatically released when cookies expire.
The list or confirmation is unavailable
An unavailable link may belong to a private or deleted list, or be incomplete. Ask its owner to check the link and sharing setting. An empty list has no available gifts yet. If a change cannot be confirmed, retry in the same browser; do not assume it was saved. If someone else reserved the gift first, choose another.
The viewer does not request names or display who reserved a gift. Availability is visible to anyone with the public link, including its owner. This does not guarantee a completely secret reservation.
Save products from your computer
Open Wiset in Chrome Web Store. Install the available store version, then open Wiset from the browser’s extension icon.
- Sign in with the same Wiset account you use on your phone.
- Open the product’s page in the shop, then open the Wiset panel. Check the extracted name, image, price and currency; correct anything missing or inaccurate.
- Choose your destination list and save. Check the result before closing the panel. Open that same account and list in the mobile app to find the saved item; refresh if necessary.
Some shops do not expose all product fields in a usable format. Review them instead of assuming extraction is always correct. A currency change should match the shop’s displayed price; it does not convert the amount automatically.
In the upcoming version 2.2.0
Version 2.2.0 is not yet available in the store. Once available, it adds recovery of an uncertain save after reopening the panel. If a connection fails, reopen using the same account and retry the pending operation before creating another. A confirmed rejection preserves the form so you can correct it. These improvements should not be assumed to exist in the current store version.
That update also adds avatar → Settings → “Help improve Wiset with usage data”. It is optional and off by default for each account in that browser. It sends the save result, extension version, shop hostname and pseudonymous account identifier to PostHog in the EU, with an independent random event identifier and an error category when needed. It does not send product names, product/list IDs or full URLs as analytics. The account identifier can connect PC and mobile usage; it is not anonymous. Turning this off stops future events without affecting saving.
Cookies and optional measurement
The guest reservation cookie is functional: it lets this browser release its own reservation. It is separate from optional analytics. At the bottom of a shared list you can accept, reject or turn off viewer analytics. Browser DNT/GPC preferences take precedence. Declining analytics does not stop you from reserving. The extension has its own per-account setting; accepting on the website does not turn it on.
